She was born April 14, 1934, in Hawkins County. She retired from MECO with 27 years of service. She attended Gospel Mission Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Bragg; parents, David and Bonnie (Patterson) Crawford; sisters, Edna Light, Mae Morelock, Thelma Whetsel, Faye Lamb, Linda McAmis; and brother, Ross Crawford.
Hazel is survived by her children, Gary Bragg, Gail Strickler (David), Susie Dolen (Dan), Chris Bragg (Kim), and Connie Light (Anthony); grandchildren, Melissa Smith (Rusty), Matthew Strickler (Autumn), Melanie Smith (Josh), Adam Dolen, Philip Dolen (Keisha), Hollee Bragg, Haylee Park (Chan), Emily Eaton (Jake), Cody Light (Celeste), Austin Light (Krissa), and Evan Light; great-grandchildren, Daphne Smith, Toby Strickler, Sawyer and Trinity Smith, William Dolen, Noah Park (due February 2019), Cassidy and Tucker Eaton; sisters, Lora Morelock, Ruth Wallen (Ken), Darlene Morelock (Roscoe), Opal Taylor, Kathy Dolen (Roy), and Sue Dolen (Tim); brother-in-law, Donal “Cooper” Light; sister-in-law, Helen Nelms; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. The funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Lewie Meade and Brother Shelton Meade officiating.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at Walker’s Fork Church Cemetery.
The family will also receive friends at the residence of Anthony and Connie Light, 652 Old Blairs Gap Rd, Kingsport, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be Gary and Chris Bragg, Matthew Strickler, Adam and Philip Dolen, Cody, Austin, and Evan Light.
